His tours of the USA have been very successful and he has played in venues such as B.B Kings Club in Memphis and Buddy Guys Blues Club in Chicago as well as several southern blues festivals. While in America, Ray recorded with Mark Sallings and had the privilege of being asked to play with American greats such as Andy Just, Dave Bowen and Chris Cain, who had this to say, Ray is unquestionably one of the finest musicians I have come across His song writing has a harmonic and emotional depth that many strive for but few capture. Rays guitar workwell, lets just say this cat is VERY dangerous.
Ray Beadle’s career as a guitarist started when he was just 9. He released his first solo CD “Movin’ On” in 1998, a CD with the infamous King Brothers (trio format) in 2000 and “The Good Life” in 2001 with his band, the Vipers.
Review of The Good Life
Most of Ray and The Vipers songs were written by Ray and all of them fall right across the wide parameter of blues. One can hear the influences of jazz and the exciting early rhythms and riffs of the late 40s early 50s which were later to become Rock’n’Roll. Close your eyes in some songs and it doesn’t take much imagination to hear what could be a 2002 version of what Bill Haley’s Comets would play! All the band show off their talents as The Vipers and Ray has that definitive ‘Bluesy’ voice. If you’re into contemporary blues with a Rock’n’Roll kick, this is it!. They are one of Australia’s top Blues bands, if not the Top!
He also features on CDs with Bridie & the Boogie Kings and many others, including the evergreen Foreday Riders.
Ray Beadle is a musician of many talents, he featured as a solo artist on acoustic guitar with an eclectic mix of instrumentals, originals, blues and soul tunes in addition to performing with the Foreday Riders at the 10th annual Australian Blues Music Festival in 2006.
